1. Au Kenya, une éléphante sauvage vient d’avoir des jumeaux. C’est un événement extrêmement rare pour ces animaux : on estime que cela ne concerne qu’environ 1 % des naissances. 2. En Italie, une famille syrienne a pu être accueillie suite à la médiatisation d’une photo saisissante : prise en janvier 2021, elle montre le père, amputé d’une jambe suite à un bombardement, jouer avec son fils, lui-même né sans membres. Récompensée lors d’un festival de photographie à Sienne, elle a fini par faire le tour du pays et entraîner une mobilisation humanitaire et financière. La famille de 5 a finalement pu s’installer à Sienne, où le père et le fils recevront des prothèses et une assistance médicale. 3. En Russie, une fillette de 10 ans qui s’était perdue dans le blizzard, passant 18 heures dehors, a été retrouvée vivante. La clé de sa survie : elle s’était réfugiée sous un balcon, au rez-de-chaussée d’un bâtiment, aux côtés d’un chien errant. Ils se sont blottis l’un contre l’autre toute la nuit pour se transmettre leur chaleur. 4. En Californie, les pluies anormalement abondantes qui se sont abattues sur l’État à la fin de l’année dernière ont eu une heureuse conséquence : elles ont eu lieu pendant la saison de reproduction des saumons, et grâce au niveau élevé des cours d’eau, ceux-ci ont pu avoir accès à des zones où ils n’avaient pas été observés depuis 25 ans. Cela annonce une bonne saison de reproduction pour ces animaux qui souffrent de la fragmentation écologique. 5. À Tahiti, on vient de découvrir un récif corallien inconnu jusqu’alors : long de 3 km et mesurant jusqu’à 70 m de large, c’est l’un des plus massifs jamais découverts à une telle profondeur (entre 35 et 70 m). Mais son aspect le plus important, c’est qu’il semble être en très bonne santé, malgré le mauvais état des océans qui affecte la plupart des récifs coralliens. |
